.With new and historic venues becoming available, many people, both male and female, want something different in which to be married. Wedding clothes have ranged in style from Greek through medieval to Regency, Interview with a Vampire and Sleepy Hollow being two of my recent references for men's suits. The period of Jane Austen is always popular for dresses, and also for men's coats.

I made a bodice for a bride (see right) using an 18th century corset pattern, the same original source used by Vivienne Westwood for her beautiful bustiers. It was worn with a modern slim full length skirt. Also popular this season have been dresses with corset style bodices in sumptuous brocades or covered with lace.

I also made a suit (see left,) based on original patterns of about 1830, comprising a white cotton shirt with a pleated front, white silk cravat, grey wool worsted trousers, silk brocade waistcoat, unfortunately hidden in the photo, and a green wool coat with a full skirt.

Among other choices have been several fancy waistcoats, a couple of Goth weddings, and a Celtic outfit for an outdoor, pagan, ceremony. I have made a Pre-Raphaelite wedding dress, an eighteenth century gown, and a Regency bride and groom, with their three matching bridesmaids.
